Cutting Room Floor
01:38
|
|
||
On the cutting room floor
there's a sad little pile
of bloopers, bad makeup,
and unwanted ideas which
reside on the cutting room floor.
In east Hollywood
there's a cramped little room
where the editors swivel in
their comfortable chairs as
they siphon through footage and
remove all the garbage
which they'll leave on the
cutting room floor.
Someone's something never to be shown.
Nowhere nothing ever to be known.
A superfluous scene
to be dropped from the film
of our hero engaged
in a charming exchange
Now it lies on the cutting room floor
A moment of shame
that's preserved on the slides
She wound up alone
in an alternate ending
An expensive mistake
finds its place with the others
in the dust on the cutting room floor
At the end of the day
someone enters the room
Sweeping the snippets
the clips and the bits
Tapes them together
in just the right order
for a film called "The Cutting Room Floor"

The Decider
02:43
|
|
||
I'm the decider
And I decide what is best
I make big decisions
Then I take a rest
I'm the decider
And I guess I'll do my best
I wake up and go downstairs and sit down at my desk
Pour myself a bowl of Lucky Charms and call my friends
They can help me figure out exactly what to do
Who to talk to, what to say, and how to tie my shoe
I'm the decider
And I decide what is best
I make big decisions
Then I take a rest
I'm the decider
And I guess I'll do my best
How is it always my fault whenever shit goes wrong
Pray to Jesus, give me strength, to finish up my song
I cannot completely know or fully understand
What exactly God is thinking as he guides my hand
I'm the decider
And I decide what is best
I make big decisions
Then I take a rest
I'm the decider
And I guess I'll do my best
I'm the decider and I guess I did my best

Au Naturale
03:35

Au Naturale
Au Naturale
I worked at Whole Foods chopping heads off of fishes
Somehow I knew, this is not the job for me
Free my pets. Gave up meat. Then tried eating bugs
Made them sad and I felt bad. So I gave that up
Quit my job and sold my car. Burned down my house.
Along with all my clothes
Made my mailbox into a birdhouse
For a family of crows
Au Naturale
Au Naturale
I made a new home on the peak of a mountain
I hurled my cellphone off the top of said mountain
I don't shave in my cave. Grew out my hair
My roommate's a bear
Rent was due a week ago. I'm late again
Hope he doesn't maul me
I do yoga. Every morning at sunrise
Breakfast is fungus and a cold glass of milkweed
The answer my friends is the ants are my friends
The answer's the ants are my friends

Cog
03:44
|
|
||
Here I am
Just a cog, all by myself
Here I am
And here I go
Watch me now
Watch me now
I hope you like me
You can call me cog
Let me act like you
Let me be your cog
It's my only job
With my friends
Just a cog with all my friends
With my friends
Party on
Look like me
Act like me
I hope they like me
Generation cog
People like me
Let me call you cog
It's my only job
I need you
I can't think, I'm just a cog
Without you
I can't function

Jackie Chan
01:43
|
|
||
I couldn't find the words today
(As I was looking down a hole)
There was something that I had to say
(I could feel it burning in my soul)
Until I find another way
(His move had finally took its toll)
There is where I'll have to stay

Free Brick
05:45
|
|
||
Free brick, flying through my window
Spray paint, decorates my house
And you left a note for me,
That you scratched there with a key
On the door of my new 240z
Pink slip, never ending weekend
Road trip, living in my car
This new diet program's great
I've lost a ton of weight
It's been a couple weeks since last I ate
When you think about it
Everything doesn't have to be so sad
Despite a broken window,
Shattered glass
Just remember you still have a
Free brick, free brick, free brick
Free pipe, full of free explosives
Free powder, poofing out my mail
I'll enjoy a sudden nap
Provided by your baseball bat
While you kindly tie me up in a sack
Drafted, travel round the world now.
Free shrapnel lodged into my spleen
It's nice you gave to me
so intravenously
a case of someone else's HIV
When you think about it
Everything doesn't have to be so sad
Despite a broken window,
Shattered glass
Just remember you still have a
Free brick, free brick, free brick
